Remember that chair full of fabric cabbages? They have magically transformed into a rug!

(The tutorial for turning the sheets into yarn is here: https://www.hodgepodgehomesteading.com/2025/03/28/making-yarn-out-of-old-fabric/ )

I wanted it to be pretty thick, and to cover a large area. Between that, and some of the sheets being smaller, I used 9 sheets in total. It was completely worth it though. The rug is so nice to stand on!

I didn’t use a pattern this time. I just made a chain stitch as long as I wanted the width of the rug to be (60 sts). Then I did rows of half double crochet. The only real pattern was to the colours, which are mirror image.
This was a very simple project to make. It was really heavy though! My arms would get sore after only a few rows at a time. It kept me nice and warm while I was working on it though!
